This is top 3 in the cities. Sit at the bar - get a way better sense of the menu as they make it in front of you and watch the masters rock the oven. Everything on the menu is worth trying. Can't recommend one specific thing - just try it all.
Fantastic creative pizzas! Get there before the dinner crowd, or try to sit at the counter and watch the masters at work.
If you've seen the Netflix feature of this place, my review will be pretty worthless in comparison. But in my opinion, this place lives up to the hype. The ambiance is pretty humble and nothing to write home about. But I didn't come here for ambiance. I came here for pizza and holy sh!t! It is probably the best goddamned pizza I've had. Or at least close to it. There's lots of great options but the Korean barbecue and Lady ZaZa are my faves. The crust I would say is more of a New York style than a Neapolitan style. Very, very crispy and crunchy with a very slight sweetness to it. This crust is art. The texture is unmatched. Even with no toppings, I would just eat it on its own. But the toppings... OMG... I had the cauliflower appetizer and it was so simple but awesome. And you HAVE to get the soft serve ice cream. It is the simplest dessert that is the perfect combination that somehow appeals to your childhood nostalgia and your adult sophisticated palate simultaneously.
Pizzeria Lola is one of the best pizza restaurants in the twin cities. It is a small space and there is limited parking so make a reservation! They have a small patio for outdoor seating as well. Ann Kim has amazing wood fired pizza creations including the Lady ZaZa, Korean BBq and Sunnyside pizzas. My personal favorite is the Sunnyside, I order it every time. They also do takeout which is perfect if you can't get a reservation/table.
I've been a huge fan of Ann Kim for a while and have been to Young Joni and Sooki and Mimi (rip) many times, but hadn't had the chance to try out Pizzeria Lola until just recently. This place is a lot more casual than some of her other restaurants, and gives off a more familial atmosphere which is a pretty cool switch from the fancier sister establishments. The servers were all extremely friendly and attentive, and were experts on the menu. We decided to get 3 pizzas to share amongst 4 of us which was about the perfect amount of food. We ordered a Boise, Lady ZaZa, and KBBQ. Everyone's favorite was the Lady ZaZa - it was so incredible and featured a nice combination of Korean and Italian flavors. The spicy sauce works really well and I loved the kimchi and sausage on it. My next favorite was the KBBQ which I've had several times at Young Joni. And then our least favorite was the Boise pizza. It was still good, a little overpowering with the rosemary, but I liked the unique take on pizza that it brought still. Overall, an incredible place to eat and a new favorite restaurant of mine.
Passing through Minneapolis, I was told this place was a must do. And yes, it very much is. When you walk in, it just smells so good. Everything is fresh made and it shows! We got the Ceasar salad and split it. It came with soy marinated eggs which on their own are tough but with the salad they work. We also got the Korean bbq pizza. When I tell you this was one of the best pizzas I've ever had I mean my goodness. The flavors were just top notch. The only thing I wasn't pumped about was the fact that a side of ranch is $3. I am a pizza and ranch kind of girl so did I order it anyway? Yes. Was it delicious? Also, yes. The tip is also included in your bill as well so be prepared for that.
This pizzeria was on my must try list while visiting Minneapolis. It was the highlight of my trip since the weather was in the negative 20's and not much to enjoy except for warm delicious food. We ordered 3 pies and all had a perfect crust , amazing flavors and service was amazing. Korean bbq, sunny side and meatball was the ones we went with. Everyone had soft serve and I enjoyed the extra calories on the local IPA. The best part of our visit was the Photo Booth. The kids got to hang a photo along the wall of amazing memories. Thank you so much for the wonderful time , thank you for the wonderful service and hopefully we'll have the opportunity to try the other restaurants/concepts they own.
Hubby and I were looking for a pizza spot while visiting Minneapolis. He found Pizzeria Lola and a wood fired pizza sounded really good. We arrived and they were super busy! We waited about 20 minutes for a couple seats at the bar to open up. Once seated, I ordered a glass of red wine. And we ordered 2 pizzas to share. Sweet Italian - excellent pizza! Tasty Italian sausage with caramelized red onions and sweet peppadew peppers. Perfectly charred crust. Highly recommend! Old reliable with pepperoni - amazing! So cheesy and loaded with pepperoni cups. Charred crust. All around a simply delicious pepperoni pizza. Pizzeria Lola served up some of the best wood fired pizza we've had. We will definitely be back!
Wow, this is some of the best pizza I have ever had....and I don't like pizza. Pizzeria Lola has amazing flavors and I would come back for this. The place isn't super big, we came for lunch and had some reservations, I imagine it can get pretty packed. The staff were all super nice, very helpful. They even have a cute little disco ball hung up, just super fun inside. The pizza...yum! I got the special which was beef birria and it was so yummy. Like I couldn't stop eating it cause it was so good. My husband got the Korean bbq one which was also very good too. Some other people got more traditional pizzas but these unique flavors are what really set them apart. I look forward to coming back here and trying the other pizzas out!
